Frederica MarshallFrederica Marshall is available to travel and teach workshops in your area.

She has taught workshops at the Ringling Museum of Art and the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Wildacres - North Carolina, Art Center Kadena - Okinawa, Japan, International Youth Organization - Tokyo, Japan. For the past nine years, Frederica has been an Artist in Residence in the Sarasota County Arts Council program “Artists in the Schools”.

Frederica has had more than 17,000 students of all ages from kindergarten to retirement homes. A joyous approach to creativity allows students of all ages to experience success and gain skills in their art creations.

FREDERICA MARSHALL – HIGHLIGHTS OF 2009
  • WON The Honorable Merit Award for the scroll painting "Time and a Moment" at the Tokyo Fine Art Museum 2008-2009 International Sumi-e Exhibition.
  • WON The People's Choice Award at The Legacy Gallery in Deer Isle, Maine, 2009 Noah's Art Exhibit.
  • "Moon and Wave" painting accepted at The 2009-2010 International Sumi-e Exhibition, Tokyo Fine Art Museum.
  • Solo show: The Discovery Museum, Bangor, Maine.
  • Reflections show: By Design Gallery, Bangor, Maine.
  • Exhibited and sold "Opera House Dragon" sumi-e, Isalos Fine Art, Stonington, Maine.
  • Illustrated and published: "The Hired Cats" children's book written by Lee Fay.
  • Red Dot Gallery Coop, 3 Main Street, Deer Isle Village, continues to thrive.
  • Completed a commission of a large scroll painting for Harry and Karen Trueheart.
  • Published two articles in The National Sumi-e Quarterly magazine: Dunhuang-Silk Road Art in China, spring 2009 issue, and Finger Calligraphy, summer 2009 issue.
  • Taught painting workshops in Florida at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, and Asian Arts & Decor at Loveland Center and other locations.
  • Taught Landscape Sumi-e workshop, Morrisville, Vermont.
  • Taught multiple workshops and ongoing classes for adults and children at Frederica's school in Deer Isle, Maine.
  • "Take classes with Frederica" was a prescription given to one student by her physician.
  • Created "The Lighthouses of Down East Maine" series of eight original watercolors and cards.
  • Created the Zen Series Moon and Wave with flying white brush strokes; several exhibited and sold in various galleries.
  • Provided a benefit Japanese story telling (Kami shi bai) and paper arts workshop at The Blue Hill Public Library.
  • Exhibition and hanging committee member for The Pearson Legacy Gallery, Deer Isle, Maine.
  • Donated a watercolor painting workshop to WERU Public Radio station auction.
