“ This was inspired by a winter afternoon walk. Everything was still after great wind which had created calligraphy in the snow by whipping the salt grass. The warmth of the sun was heating the rocks and causing trickles of snow to melt down the glowing rock faces. The owner of this painting said
‘Frederica, only you could have painted this!’ ”
