BEAR ISLAND SHORE Bear Island Shore was created on the beach at Bear Island, Buckminster Fuller's summer cottage where I had a wonderful painting retreat with other artists. That day I wandewred to this cliff, climbed down and painted sumi-e as the tide came in. I finished in time to climb up only getting my sneakers a little wet. The rocks on this shore are igneous and sharp, unlike the rounded granite of Deer Isle. It seems every island has its own characteristics here. Sumi-e Ink on Pi Paper
