AUTUMN MEMORY

Autumn Memory - Frederica Marshall

“ Autumn Memory was painted to capture a portrait of a granite boulder I pass on my daily walk. The birches and maples had such intense color it looked like the leaves were a firey phoenix rising above the rock. Tiny fall asters and weeds exploded around the base, the colors were almost shocking! ”

Western Watercolor on 300 lb. Arches Paper
The watercolor pigments include quinacridone colors from Daniel Smith Art Supply. These pigments have the chemical composition of the luminous colors in autumn leaves, very appropriate for this subject.
